A Mini Update for a Mini Map

About a year ago, our testers made one thing very clear to us: Cyborg Immortal needs a map. So we added a mini map for our mission, then we added a mini map for the overworld, and finally we added a (not mini) map of the entire overworld.

The Mission Map

The mission map behaves a bit differently than a typical mini-map. Instead of showing your immediate surroundings, the mission map shows you the room you’re in, the rooms you’ve already cleared, and, if you’re close enough, the boss room. This helps players keep track of the mission at hand, while not revealing too much information.

The Classic Mini-Map

The overworld mini-map does exactly what you’d expect a mini-map to do. It shows you the location of enemies, friendly NPCs, teleporters, other players, walkable terrain, and more! There isn’t a lot this mini-map can’t do. It’s still a new addition, so we’re keen to hear what players think.

The Overworld Map

The final new map, the overworld map, lets players view full areas and teleport back and forth between previously discovered waypoints. This map can be accessed at any point in your menu. It shows a simplified layout of the entire world neatly divided into different areas. Tapping on a subarea of one of the larger areas brings up a screenshot to show you the location, and includes a small bit of lore about the area.

We’re curious to know what players think of our new maps, so if you get a chance to playtest, don’t forget to let us know what you think!
