SB Games is seeking a passionate and technically inclined individual to join our team as a Game Designer. This is a junior to mid-level position with a focus on designing and coding game systems and content using the Lua scripting language. While prior experience with Lua is not mandatory, candidates must be willing to learn and demonstrate proficiency in Lua, along with experience in other scripting languages.

You will play a vital role in shaping the gameplay mechanics and content for an unannounced multiplayer RPG project. Working closely with our development team, you will conceptualize, prototype, and implement various game features and systems. This includes designing and coding combat mechanics, character abilities, AI behavior, and other interactive elements using Lua scripting.

Location: Fully Remote

Responsibilities:

• Designing and coding game systems and content using Lua scripting language.

• Collaborating with other team members to brainstorm and develop innovative gameplay ideas.

• Implementing and iterating on game mechanics to ensure a seamless and engaging player experience.

• Conducting playtests and gathering feedback to refine and improve game systems.

• Documenting design decisions, technical specifications, and implementation details for reference.

• Contributing to the overall creative vision and direction of the project.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C#).

• Willingness to learn or develop proficiency in Lua scripting language.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Examples of previous projects or prototypes showcasing design and coding abilities.

• Experience using Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT to enhance productivity.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with the Unity game engine.

• Previous experience with Lua scripting language.

• Familiarity with multiplayer game development concepts.
