Cyborg Immortal’s Return to Playtesting

2024 is a big year for us. We’re starting off the year strong with consistent playtests, and we’ll be ending even stronger with the release of Cyborg Immortal. But we have a ways to go before we’re ready for that, so let’s start with our most recent milestone, our first Cyborg Immortal playtest in almost 11 months.

Over the course of one weekend, hundreds of new players logged on Cyborg Immortal for the first time, and returning players were able to revisit a game they had waited almost a year to play. While we kept this test relatively small, we’ll be expanding subsequent playtests to continuously analyze the strength of our online servers to be sure that we’re able to provide the best possible experience for players all around the world.

In the most recent playtest, new cyborg recruits could play through about 4 hours of planned content featuring the second main area of the overworld, The Atomic Wasteland. With 5 unique sub areas and a brand new set of missions through a procedurally generated museum, players had a full world to discover. But of course, no Atomic Wasteland is complete without mutant carnivorous plants or irradiated clown animatronics, so we made sure to have plenty of those for players to blast through. Speaking of blasting, we gave cyborgs plenty of new methods to deal with all of the new enemies present in the most recent playtest. We expanded the cyborg’s arsenal to include new skills, new weapons, and new armor to ensure a successful mission.

Other than the valuable insight we gained from pushing our servers to new limits, players were happy to tell us what they thought about Cyborg Immortal during the playtest. This player feedback shapes our development by providing us insight into how we can continue to develop our dream game, while never losing sight of the people we’re developing for, our fans.

If you missed it before, check out this playtest trailer featuring plenty of new enemies, abilities, weapons, and locations!
